PLUM GROVE
JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL
Principal Points
August 2011
Welcome to Plum Grove Junior High School and the 2011-2012 school year.
This website will direct you to curriculum guides, informational phone numbers, activities, and how to become involved at school. According to The Michigan Department of Education, The more families are involved the more beneficial are the achievement effects for students.
The transition to junior high is a time of great challenge for many students. As we know, the work gets harder, and the grading policies toughen up. All of this happens while students are coping with their new adolescent bodies and roles. We believe at Plum Grove Junior High in promoting in our students a growth mindset that will increase their positive attitudes and grades for the two years that we have them. Success and promoting growth mindset is exactly where we will find our champions in learning and improving and owning their abilities. As John Wooden said, personal success is when you work your hardest to become your best.
To our students, families, and staff, welcome back to Plum Grove. We will work together to make this a year of growth, fun, and achievement.
Dr. Kerry Swalwell
Principal,
