WOW Day
The PTSA 21st annual W.O.W. Day will be held Friday, February 12, 2010 from 11am until the end of the normal school day. W.O.W. (Widening Our World) is a career day event that provides information about careers and practical knowledge. The day has an impact on students long after they graduate from Plum Grove.

War of the Worlds - Annual Recycling Drive
Sponsored by the Environmental Club.

Dates: Feb 1 - Feb 5.
Details: The winner will be the homeroom that collects the most number of items.

We will accept the following: Old Cell Phones, Eye glasses, Printer Cartridges, Children's books, Gym shoes.

Bags will be collected on Monday Feb 8. Items will be counted and the winners will get a Donut breakfast on Thursday, Feb. 11.

Fremd Art Day - Saturday, January 30
See what it's like by spending some time with Fremd students and teachers creating a number of mini-projects to take home! Saturday, January 30 - 9am - 12noon. Fremd High School, Room 1. This is for all 7th and 8th graders. Please RSVP to Mr Hubbard: lhubbard@d211.org

Band Pictures: Friday, January 29

Band Pictures for the yearbook will be taken on Friday, Jan. 29 during regular scheduled rehearsals through-out the day in the bandroom.

All band students are asked to wear their Band Polo Shirt with regular school pants and appropriate shoes/socks for the picture. Students may also purchase their own copy of the picture for $10.00 per photo. Forms are available in the bandroom-please bring them filled out with payment included on Friday, January 29 if you would like to purchase a picture.

Independence Highway presentation on January 20 and 25
Jan 20 - 6:45-8:45pm - Girls and Parents
Jan 25 - 6:45-8:45pm - Boys and Parents

Independence Highway is a program designed by the Society for the Preservation of Human Dignity. The program provides parents and teens the opportunity to discuss topics including healthy sexuality and relationships, both together and with their peers, in a facilitated learning environment. This event is sponsored by Northwest Suburban Council of PTAs/PTSAs. View flyer

Fremd News for the Class of 2014 Explore Test results were mailed home the week of January 4. The results of this test will help determine the English, math and science course levels your child will take during the 9th grade year of high school. In addition to the test score results you should have received a copy of the Freshmen Course Selection Sheet for the 2010-2011 School year. Completed Freshman Course Selection Sheets can be turned in on January 20th during Incoming Freshman Parent Night. More info from Fremd

Three PGJH Teachers were awarded mini-grants from Foundation

Fremd Foreign Language Camp - Dec 21-23

Collecting toys for tots until December 7. Please find boxes near front office. Thank you for your donations.

The in-school H1N1 shots were given to students with parent-signed consent forms.

Yearbooks were on sale!

REMINDER: Plum Grove Recycles - Please support our school and the environment by bringing in the following items for recycling: cell phones, inkjet cartridges, eyeglasses, and old gym shoes.

All items are now collected throughout the year and all proceeds earned from the recycling of cartridges and cell phones benefit Plum Grove! You can drop off your items at the front office.
